Now is one of the planets most pressing challenges. Mountains of plastic, literal mountains of it, all over the world. But now Robach takes a look at the work of two executives who are taking it on with some promising results.
It's in our landfills, in our water and even in what we eat. The world has a plastic problem and almost 50% of that production is from single-use plastic. All that plastic outliving its users. Every year over 300 million metric tons of plastic is produced and consumed by society and globally if you look at all plastics less than 9% of that is actually getting recycled.

...in Minnesota, Forever Ware is helping some restaurants take plastic off the menu all together. The reusable stainless steel container service available as an alternative to single-use plastics. “In the first several months of our pilot program in the Twin cities, with a handful of partners, we saved over 10,000 containers from landfill,” said Forever Ware CEO, Natasha Gaffer.
